What is the RateMyPI.com beta site?
The RateMyPI.com beta website is designed to gather reviews on scientific professionals. These reviews will be searchable once RateMyPI.com goes live. We currently consider RateMyPI.com in beta because we are constantly trying to improve upon the existing website and its functions.
Are reviews anonymous?
All reviews listed on RateMyPI.com are anonymous to the public. However, the RateMyPI.com administrator can obtain access to all posted reviews by users of RateMyPI.com. This procedure is for internal purposes and will not be made available to the general public.
Who can view my profile?
Any user of RateMyPI.com can search for other members. However, you have the option to restrict certain personal information from other users of RateMyPI.com including gender, home / business address, email, phone number, and photo identification. The options to hide this information from other users of RateMyPI.com is located in the member profile page.
Can I dispute a review?
Any member of RateMyPI.com has the opportunity to respond to a review about themselves. This response will be visible alongside the original review. Additionally, an email can be sent to dispute@RateMyPI.com asking that the review be removed from RateMyPI.com. This will only be done in extreme circumstances where the individual disputing the review can provide evidence to support the inaccuracy of the disputed review.
How much does it cost to post a review?
Members of RateMyPI.com can post reviews for free. There is a free membership available at on our Subscriptions page.
How much does membership cost?
Several different membership levels exist ranging from a free member profile for posting reviews to an unlimited access membership that allows for unlimited searches of reviews, job postings, and forums for the duration of the membership. Can I purchase reviews for an individual scientist?
Yes, when logged in with a free membership you can obtain all reviews for an individual scientist for $4.99 USD. Please visit our Subscriptions page for complete details regarding this and other membership opportunities.
After I purchase individual reviews, will I be able to view these again?
Yes, you will be able view all reviews for an individual scientist up to the date of purchase. Any additional reviews on that scientist made after the purchase date will not be made available unless an additional search is completed (additional fees may apply).
How often will reviews be added?
Reviews are posted and available for view within 24 hours upon submission by RateMyPI.com members.
Will I be notified when I am reviewed?
If you are a member of RateMyPI.com and select the option to be notified, an email notification will be sent to the email address you provide in your member profile.
Can I write reviews on myself?
No. Any reviews posted on yourself will be removed by the administration. You can write a review about anyone you have personal experience working with as a scientist, including your supervisors, your collaborators and coworkers, and people you supervised.
Does RateMyPI.com offer a trial membership?
Occasionally, RateMyPI.com may offer a trail membership as part of a promotion or at conferences. Additionally, if a member completes five or more reviews on separate individual scientist, RateMyPI.com may offer a free trial; provided that the member sends an email to trial@RateMyPI.com containing the member name and contact information and the names of the scientists that were reviewed.
Can I advertise on RateMyPI.com?

Does RateMyPI.com offer grants, scholarships, or awards?
RateMyPI.com plans to offer travel awards, grants, and/or scholarships in the future. Please visit RateMyPI.com often to find out about opportunities.
